Playing on the ocean's floor. Hanging out in the earth's crust. Fly through space while riding meteorites.

What I Have In Common With Lanthanum:
1) I am very outgoing most of the time. You can find me ready to try new things .Likewise, Lanthanum can be found in a number of different elements.
2) I love being with my close friends most all of the time. Whether it is just hanging out or working with them. Some of the different elements lanthanum reacts directly with are: carbon, nitrogen, boron, selenium, silicon, sulphur and with halogens.
3) I can also be very sensitive to others needs. Like Lanthanum, soft enough to be cut with a knife.
About me:I am a silvery white metallic element. I am soft and malleable and I'm found in group 3 on the periodic table and my group name is lanthanoid. My most common state is solid at 238 K. My name, Lanthanum, is derived from the greek word lanthanide, meaning to lie hidden. I am one of the most reactive of the rare-earth metals. Although I am not found in large quantities, some places where I am found most abundantly are...
In the earth's crustal rocks,
ppb by weight = 24000, ppb by atoms = 5000
In the ocean water,
ppb by weight = 0.0034, ppb by atoms = 0.00015
In meteorites!
ppb by weight = 290, ppb by atom = 40
Who I'd like to meet: You can often find with hydrogen which makes me as lanthanum dihydride. This happens when I am in oxidation state 2. I can also be found with fluoride which makes me lanthanum triflouride and in the oxidation state 3!Another compound you may find me with is bromide, where I am lanthanum tribromide.

Hydrogen: Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. Its symbol is H and it's atomic number is 1. Its most common state is gas form and it is at the top of the periodic table in group 1. Hydrogen makes up 90% of the earth's weight. Hydrogen is used as rocket fuel and is also used in welding.
Fluorine: Fluorine is a pale yellow gas that is very corrosive and reacts with all substances. Fluorine's symbol is F and it's atomic number is 9. There was no commercial production of fluorine until World War Two. A common use of fluorine today is in toothpaste, as it it helps prevent tooth decay!
Bromine: Bromine is the only non-metallic element that is liquid. It is extremely hazardous and very strong. Bromine can be very dangerous if spilled on the skin. Bromine's symbol is Br and it's atomic number is 35. Some things bromine is used for are flame proofing agents, pesticides and dyes.
Chlorine: This greenish, yellowish gas can be combined with almost all of the elements. It it also fatal if inhaled in only a few deep breaths! Chlorine's symbol is CI and it's atomic number is 17. Almost all water supplies contain chlorine. It is also used in many cleaning compounds such as bleach and disinfectants!
